Ralph, 22, film/TV junkie from Mass.

I'm going to use this tumblr to talk about news involving movies & TV for the most part. I will also mention sales, hulu, iTunes, OnDemand, etc. I'm an aspiring filmmaker & writer and hope to achieve the goal of having my imagination come to life someday. I have a wide range in types of movies and shows I like, but will try to cover some of the things on shows/movies I might not watch if you ask. So stick around, you might enjoy it here. I also have a more Personal Blog that occasionally gets my attention.

NOTE: I only cover home releases for region 1 and all times listed for shows are Eastern Time.

Birthday Pick: Favorite Birthday-Themed Episodes

I decided to make a small list of my favorite birthday-themed episodes since it is my birthday, but also because this blog turned 1 last week and I completely forgot! So enjoy the list.

PS: I also made a list on IMDB, which I will probably be adding more to in the near future. But until then, these are the ones that really stuck with me over the years.

image

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 2, Episode 13 - Surprise

Buffy’s 17th birthday bash turns deadly when pieces of the judge arrive in Sunnydale and Jenny’s gypsy uncle tasks her with a mission to get Angel away from Buffy.

image

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 6, Episode 14 - Older and Far Away

It’s another Buffy birthday, but the neglect Dawn’s been feeling (and wishing to fix) inadvertently causes everyone to be trapped in the house… with a large demon that can go through walls.

image

Community: Season 2, Episode 19 - Critical Film Studies

Everyone has gone all-out with a Pulp Fiction-themed party for Abed’s birthday, but he has a different movie homage planned for the evening.

image

The Office: Season 2, Episode 19 - Michael’s Birthday

Michael is excited for his birthday, but Dwight is the only one ready to celebrate. Everyone else is concerned for Kevin, who is waiting for the results of a skin cancer test.

image

Rugrats: Season 1, Episode 1 - Tommy’s First Birthday

Tommy is convinced that if he eats dog food he will become a dog.

image

Sex and the City: Season 4, Episode 1 - The Agony of ‘Ex’-tacy

Carrie gets stood up by everyone on her 35th birthday and it causes her to think about her future.

image

The Simpsons: Season 3, Episode 1 - Stark Raving Dad

Lisa’s birthday is coming up and Bart struggles to think of a good gift. Meanwhile, Homer is sent to a mental institution due to a mix-up, but comes home with someone who just may be able to help Bart pull off the best gift ever.

Birthday Pick: Happy Birthday to Me (1981)

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Director: J. Lee Thompson

Writers: John C.W. Saxton, Peter Jobin & Timothy Bond

Composers: Bo Harwood & Lance Rubin

Cast: Melissa Sue Anderson, Glenn Ford, Lawrence Dane, Sharon Acker, Frances Hyland, Tracey E. Bregman, Lisa Langlois, Jack Blum, Matt Craven, Lenore Zann, Richard Rebiere and Lesleh Donaldson

Since it is my birthday, I’m of course going to watch this crazy slasher! It’s a rare gem to come out of the slasher-obsessed ’80s, and is greatly under appreciated. Add in some bizarre death scenes and a great score and you have a real cult classic!
